York Playground is one of a couple of city parks that has an agreement with the school district to use it as a playground during school hours.

I didn’t want it to seem like I was lurking near the elementary school on the weekday morning I stopped by, so I skipped a visit to the playground section of this park and checked out the cool p-patch garden located just outside the school fence. A path winds through the p-patch providing access to the park from Rainier Ave. S.
