Location: West Seattle
Address: 9102 Fauntleroy Way S.W.
Acreage: 0.19

I visited two lesser-known West Seattle parks today within walking distance of each other. Fauntleroy Creek Ravine, which is more accessible than its name suggests, is tucked away just above the Fauntleroy ferry dock.

Enter the park through a walking path that runs north-south above Fauntleroy Way S.W. This is a pleasant place to stop and watch the ferries or enjoy the view.

The creek starts up in Fauntleroy Park and flows under two major roads to let out in the Puget Sound. After improvements were made to the culvert two decades ago, fish have apparently been returning to the creek. Neighbors and school kids get together every fall to see how many Coho salmon have made the trek back.
