E. Edgar Street End

E. Edgar Street End

Location: Montlake/Central Seattle
Address: Boyer Ave. E. and E. Edgar St.
Acreage: approx. <1.0

You can spend a whole day exploring more than a dozen waterfront street ends between the Montlake and Eastlake neighborhoods. I took a walk beginning at the Montlake Playfield (which has a beautiful waterfront path and a fabulous new playground). Follow Boyer Ave. and you’ll hit a series of street ends with many just one block apart.

The E. Edgar Street End is one of my new favorites with its nice stairs and well kept plants. A path made of tiny stones leads you to a small grass area that rests almost at water level, and you get a fun view of some of the boats moored in Portage Bay.  When I visited, a bench and a few chairs were placed in the shade for visitors.

I’ll report on a few other street ends soon, but if you’re in the neighborhood it’s also worth checking out Roanoke Park just up the hill.
