Flo Ware Park

Flo Ware Park

Location: Central Seattle
Address: 28th Ave. S. and S. Jackson St.
Acreage: 0.5

A lot of community love went into turning Flo Ware Park into what it is today. Thanks to that great energy and some Pro Parks funds, this park was reopened in 2004 with lots of great amenities and a pleasing design.

The park was after Flo Ware, an African American activist in the Central District. The beautiful corner entrance was created by local junior high kids and honors Ware’s life. Also, check out the colored patterns in the cement on the pathway leading into the park.

Kids will like the two small play structures and flat grassy area. You’ll also find a half-basketball court, barbecue grill and picnic tables.
