Froula Playground shares its space with the Roosevelt Reservoir just north of the Roosevelt neighborhood in North Seattle. It’s not particularly easy to access by car or foot due to the busy roads that surround it, but the best place to enter this park is from 12th Avenue.
There you’ll find a tennis court and small play area with a sandbox. A lot of people (such as my husband) may be more interested in checking out the reservoir. A fence obviously prevents you from getting too close, but it is kind of fascinating to see a big open body of water in the middle of the neighborhood.
There is talk at the city of eventually decommissioning this reservoir and possibly making more of the park accessible to visitors. So, go check it out while it’s still here.
