Location: Mercer Island
Address: 2835 60th Pl. S.E.
Acreage: approx. 0.5

Just a half-block north of Garfield Landing, another street end park in Mercer Island, you’ll find Slater Park.

More developed than most of the other street ends on the western side of the island, this park has an old-fashioned formal design with brick-lined paths that route you among tidy hedges and sections of lawn to a wide open pebbly beach often strewn with logs.

Plenty of benches are scattered throughout the park. This is a great place for an outdoor meal while you enjoy views across the water to Seattle.

A sign near the entrance (where there are a few parking spots) talks about the early history of Mercer Island and community founder C.C. Calkins who had a famous hotel in the area that is now Luther Burbank Park.
