Location: South Seattle
Address: 4721 Rainier Ave. S.
Acreage: 2.1

This sweet park is like a welcome mat for the quaint Columbia City neighborhood. It greets visitors on the corner of Rainier Ave. S. and S. Alaska St. and invites a stroll with a curving path that leads through a nicely trimmed lawn emptying you out on the other side.

This is a great neighborhood for strolling, both the cute shops and the many close by parks, including Rainier Playfield and Genesee Park.

Here’s a little fun trivia: our state was almost named Columbia State but Washington (honoring George Washington) won out by a vote in Congress. This park is named after the Columbia City neighborhood, which was named after the river, which was named after… that explorer Chris Columbus, of course.
