Seattle pioneer Louisa Boren Denny got her own park in 1913 when a section of the larger Interlaken Park was renamed in her honor. You can access her park through a narrow trail shooting off from the main Interlaken Dr. E.
Or, even better is to start on 15th Ave. E. and enjoy the view from the top of this park. You’ll see why this is a popular place for summer wedding ceremonies. A cool sculpture by artist Lee Kelly was added in 1975.
From here, you can take the wooded trails down through the park to meet up with Interlaken Park.
Speaking of weddings… want to know a little more about Ms. Denny? She married her brother-in-law, David Denny, in 1853. Their wedding ceremony is said to be the first non-Indian wedding in Seattle. Denny also has a park (Seattle’s oldest) named after him.
