Belvoir Place

Acreage: 0.4

I’ve always been interested in that little bit of land that sticks out into Lake Washington, best seen from the 520 Bridge right before you reach the University.

I expected to see amazing waterfront homes (check) and some nice views of the water and mountains (check), but I had no idea Laurelhurstians have been slyly keeping Belvoir Place from the rest of us.

Okay, a lot of lucky homeowners in this area have their own waterfront to enjoy, but for the rest of us, Belvoir Place is a heavenly slice of waterfront property open to all. It’s easy to miss, because the property is narrow near the road, with a dirt path opening up onto a wide lawn that slopes gently down to the water.

The dock is in desperate need of a rebuild, but that didn’t stop us from tiptoeing out to get a better view. This park must be a wonderful spot for a lot of summer activities: swimming, kayaking, canoeing and even fishing.
