There’s a wonderful old-fashioned baseball scoreboard at Ross Playground in the east end of Ballard. I’m not sure if it still gets used, but I love the idea of modern rec league games with a guy in the outfield changing the score by hand. If the park isn’t used as a scene for Field of Dreams, it does appear to be an informal dog Meet-Up site.
A handful of owners have convened on a weekday morning to let their dogs rollick on the large lawn. The north end of the park has a playground and basketball court. New playground equipment will be coming in 2011.
