Location: Northwest Seattle
Address: 22nd Ave. N.W. and Ballard Ave. N.W.
Acreage: 0.1

Named after the unofficial “Mayor” of Ballard who passed away in 1989, Marvin’s Garden is situated in the center of this Seattle neighborhood off the popular Ballard Ave.

It’s a big stretch to call this park a garden, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a cool public space. It would have been more apt to call it Marvin’s Bell Tower Park, as the main feature is the cool bell that honors Ballard’s centennial. This spot also used to be the site of Ballard City Hall, back when the neighborhood really was its own city. The bell is the original from the old City Hall, which was damaged in an earthquake and torn down.

Ballard has a knack for drawing Scandinavian royalty to honor its public spaces. In 1976 the Swedish King this time dedicated this park and its bell tower.
