Cowen Park sits adjacent to Ravenna Park in north Seattle. I’m actually not sure why it was designated as a separate park because the two blend together so much it’s hard to tell where one starts and the other ends.
But anyway, it is a nice park in its own right. You’ll find a very large flat lawn that’s popular with sunbathers. We came across several on this early fall day, as well as a guy combining suntanning and yoga practice. Others appeared to be enjoying their lunch breaks at the park.
Cowen has a lot of nice amenities: tennis courts, full basketball court, playground, play fields and some nicely maintained gardens. Combine a stop at Cowen Park with a hike through Ravenna Park, and you’ve got a perfect day.
