Llandover Woods Greenspace

Llandover Woods Greenspace

Location: Northwest Seattle/Broadview
Address: N.W. 145th St. and 3rd Ave. N.W.
Acreage: 9.1

Llandover Woods Greenspace is one of the best little known hiking spots in the city. Bordering the city of Shoreline, but still within city of Seattle limits, Llandover Woods starts in a small parking lot where N.W. 145th St. ends at its most western point. A colorful information board includes a map of the trails and points out the many species of birds found here.

The trail descends into the park (there are ripe blackberries along the way) getting more dense with tall trees and vegetation. I had my two-year-olds in tow so we only made it through the small 0.6-mile loop trail, but it was lovely. You forget you’re in the city as you hear bird calls and gaze up at the canopy of deciduous and evergreen trees. There are several nice spots to see across the ravine and get a sense of the scope of this nine-acre park.

More trails continue further downhill. This is a great place to start kids on hiking, and also a good spot
to give your dog more than just the typical walk around the block.
