I tell you a little reluctantly that the most southern bench at West Seattle’s Emma Schmitz Memorial Outlook is one of my favorite places in all of Seattle. I like to find excuses to go there. And, I like always having that bench to myself.
But, I thought it’s only fair that I share my secret spot.
Emma Schmitz Memorial Outlook is quiet. It is peaceful. And, it is my favorite view of the islands and the Olympic mountains in West Seattle. I love the walking path that stretches just a quarter of a mile. It’s such a wonderful alternative to the usually overcrowded Alki Beach.
The park is a nice place to have a picnic or walk your dog. Or, take a break from a busy life.
Just please save me some room on that bench.
