Location: Bellevue/Eastside
Address: 5808 Lakemont Blvd. S.E., Bellevue
Acreage: 55

With most of its acres protected as forest and wetland, this hilltop park in the Eastgate/Coal Creek area is fun to explore even in rainy weather. A beautiful Visitors Center (open Wed.-Sun. 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.) has comfy chairs and big windows that look out over the park’s natural setting.

You can also pick up a map inside to explore the several miles of trails that span the perimeter of the park and also cross through the central wetlands where there are viewing areas. Keep an eye out for nesting birds and other critters. The Half-Mile Loop Trail is perfect for kids and provides a quick tour of the different landscapes that make up this park. It’s also possible to connect to other trails, including massive Cougar Mountain, through greenbelts and sidewalks in this area.

The playground has some protection from the weather, too, with large sails over the two separate climbing structures designed for different age groups. The area around the playground is paved for good accessibility and kids on bikes. Ballfields and a basketball court are also close.
