Jack Perry Memorial Park

Jack Perry Memorial Park

Location: Downtown/SODO
Address: 1700 East Marginal Way S.
Acreage: 1.1

Follow all the truck traffic along East Marginal Way on the edge of SODO and take a turn toward the water when you spot the Shoreline Public Access sign. At the end of this driveway, surrounded by maritime activity, you’ll find Jack Perry Memorial Park.

This Port of Seattle Park doesn’t have as much to offer as several of the other great port parks, including Jack Block Park, Terminal 105 Park and Smith Cove Park. The park has waterfront public access in an area of the city that lacks shoreline parks, so it has a lot of potential. But, right now you’ll find mostly concrete and a few small shrubs and trees.

Kids and adults interested in what goes on along Seattle’s industrial waterfront may still want to check out this park. It provides a good close-up view of activities along the eastern side of Harbor Island. To get a different view of port activities, check out Terminal 18 Park.

Sadly, Jack Perry was a Port of Seattle employee who died tragically on the job in 1988.
